What is AI memory migration?

AI memory migration is moving the memory you have already accumulated in one tool into another. It matters because the cost of switching AI tools is rarely the tool itself — it is the context you would leave behind. Migration only works if the source lets you export, which is worth checking before you invest years of context in any platform. The practical test of whether a memory layer treats your data as yours is whether it supports both directions: importing what you built elsewhere, and exporting what you build there.
