Overview

The Gemini app supports custom MCP servers through Gemini Spark — Google's always-on agent inside gemini.google.com. Spark's "Custom apps" feature (rolled out starting June 29, 2026) lets you add Tempreon by URL, so Spark can load your Core Imprint, search your knowledge, and remember what it learns while it works for you.

Quick path: gemini.google.com → Settings & help → Connected Apps → Custom apps for Spark → Add a custom app → paste the Tempreon URL → authorize.

Availability note (as of August 2026): Custom apps for Spark require access to Gemini Spark, which comes with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription. They also need a personal Google account (not Workspace or school), and are US-only, 18+, English, with "Keep Activity" turned on. Google expanded Spark itself to more countries and languages in July 2026, but the custom-apps requirements above are listed separately and still read US and English — so Spark reaching your region doesn't automatically mean custom apps have. If you don't see the option, check this list first. Regular Gemini chat without Spark doesn't have a custom app path yet. If Gemini isn't an option for you today, the same Google models are available with full Tempreon support in Google Antigravity — generally available, with a free tier.

Prerequisites

  • A Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription, which is what grants Gemini Spark access (see the availability note above)
  • A Tempreon account with at least one available Bridge slot
  • A computer — custom apps are added on the web, not in the mobile app (once connected, Spark uses them on mobile too)

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Open Connected Apps

  1. On a computer, go to gemini.google.com
  2. At the bottom, click Settings & help
  3. Click Connected Apps. If you don't see it there, click Personal Intelligence first, then Connected Apps.

2. Add Tempreon as a custom app

  1. Under Custom apps for Spark, select Add a custom app
  2. Enter the Tempreon MCP server URL:

  1. Click Next — you don't need to open "Advanced features" or enter any credentials. Tempreon supports automatic client registration, so Gemini configures itself.

3. Authorize the connection

A browser window opens with the Tempreon consent screen. Sign in to your Tempreon account if prompted, review the request, and approve. You'll be returned to Gemini with the app connected.

4. Use it in Spark

Give Spark a task that touches your context — it can now call Tempreon's tools as it works. Once connected on the web, the custom app is available to Spark in the Gemini mobile apps as well.

Troubleshooting

You don't see "Connected Apps" or "Custom apps for Spark". First check under Personal Intelligence — Google nests Connected Apps there in some builds. If it's still not there, you're likely outside the current rollout: the feature needs Gemini Spark access (Google AI Pro or Ultra), a personal account, US, 18+, and English. Nothing is wrong on the Tempreon side. Google Antigravity is the free way to use Gemini models with Tempreon today.

The connection fails immediately. Check the URL ends in /mcp with no trailing slash.

Authorization succeeded but nothing happens. Confirm "Keep Activity" is on in your Google account settings — Spark requires it for connected apps.

Frequently asked questions

How do I authorize Tempreon in the Gemini app — do I need to enter any keys?
No keys are needed. After you paste the Tempreon URL and click Next, a browser window opens with the Tempreon consent screen. Sign in to your Tempreon account if prompted, then review and approve the request. You are returned to Gemini with the app connected, since Tempreon's automatic client registration lets Gemini configure itself.
Where in the Gemini app do I add the Tempreon MCP server?
Custom apps are added on the web, not in the mobile app. On a computer, go to gemini.google.com, then open Settings and help, then Connected Apps, and under Custom apps for Spark choose Add a custom app. Once connected there, Spark can also use Tempreon in the Gemini mobile apps.
I authorized Tempreon in Gemini but nothing happens when I ask Spark to use it. What's wrong?
Check that Keep Activity is turned on in your Google account settings. Spark requires it for connected apps, so authorization can succeed while the connection stays inactive until Keep Activity is enabled. This is a Google account setting rather than anything on the Tempreon side.
