Your Kernel
The earned half of your Core Imprint — portable operating rules Tempreon learns from how you actually work.
Overview
Your Core Imprint has two halves. The sections you author — voice, values, hard stops, working patterns — come from onboarding and your own edits. The Kernel is the half you earn: a short, versioned set of operating conditionals Tempreon distills from what you teach, confirm, and correct as you work.
Each Kernel line has three parts:
When a situation comes up → do the thing you'd want done. Why: your own reasoning, in your words.
Where to Find It
Your Kernel lives on your Core Imprint page, beside the sections you authored. You'll first meet it right after onboarding — your first dashboard visit reveals Kernel v1, earned from what you just taught the system.
Why It Matters
- It loads everywhere. Every AI session through a Tempreon Bridge carries your Kernel, in every connected tool, identically.
- It travels with you. Use Copy or Download on the Kernel block and paste it into any LLM — even one with no Tempreon connection — and that model behaves like you. It's yours.
- It grows. Sessions, confirmations, corrections, and Memory Imports all feed it. New versions mint as the system earns more; before there's enough validated signal, it shows as "forming."
Earned, Not Authored
You can't type a Kernel line in — that's the point. The Kernel only contains rules validated by how you actually work, each carrying your own reasoning. That's what makes it trustworthy enough to load into every interaction.
You still shape it constantly:
- Correct your AI in-session — "that's wrong," "stop doing X." Corrections are the strongest signal.
- Confirm or dispute Instincts on your Instincts page — the Kernel is distilled from your highest-confidence learning.
- Review outcomes on the Shaping page — how your delivered work actually landed feeds what gets reinforced.
Kernel vs. Core Imprint vs. Instincts
| Layer | What it is | How it's made |
|---|---|---|
| Core Imprint | Your full identity profile | Authored sections + the earned Kernel |
| Kernel | The distilled, highest-confidence operating rules | Earned — never hand-edited |
| Instincts | Everything the system has learned (style, process, judgment) | Learned; browsable, confirmable, disputable |
Try Saying...
- "What's in my Kernel right now?" — Your AI can read it back to you
- "That's wrong — I never want X." — Corrections reshape the underlying learning fast
- "Why did you do it that way?" — If a Kernel line applied, your AI can point to it (and the Why is your own words)
FAQ
Why is my Kernel empty or still "forming"? Not enough validated signal yet — it's a quality gate, not a bug. Complete onboarding thoroughly, run a Memory Import, and give feedback on drafts.
Is my Kernel private? Yes — like everything in Tempreon, it's yours alone and never used to train third-party models.
